He could have used ANY truck for his new movie, The Mule. His choice? A fucking LINCOLN MARK LT.

I love the MarkLT, I looked at buying one for a while but being only a 4 speed and the problems with the 3V 5.4 kept me away.

Oh man, this looks good.

I’ll give this Movie a yes.
Looks like Classic Clint, hopefully along the lines of the movie with the Gran Torino in it.

He drove an XK150 in his directorial debut, so yeah, I’ll agree with your theory.

Th at was a great trailer! It was great because the music was sooo low key and tense, despite the growing action. That’s how you make a great trailer!

I think old rich white guy with delusions of grandeur was precisely the target audience of the LT

I was left wondering how much choice he had in vehicles and how much was pragmatic product placement on rewatching the Dirty Harry movies. A bunch of them have Fords up to the eyebrows, but there’s also the later
The Dead Pool
with a bunch of Olds in it. And a ‘78 Monte Carlo.

For some reason, IMDB does not list the composer. After watching the trailer, that was my first question.

I kept expecting him to open the trunk and see the dead cop (and his dog).

Apparently a Ford fan, too.
Maybe there should be a “Little Mule”:

Horrible handling on the K9 cop’ s part. Unless the trailer is edited in a way where we missed where Clint’s character was already placed in the police Tahoe.

No, meaning that Clint killed the cop and tossed him in the truck.

Well yeah I know, but before that, the cop just lets the dog out, no leash. I hope Clint’s not still standing there by his truck.....

Nothing new. Why the fucking Grand Torino? It’s the oddball outsider of the muscle car world. It’s one of them but not quite valued as high as the camerostangtrifivemopar bunch. Much like the main character it’s the outsider that just wants to defend its place....
(And yes, I know that I roped the tri fives together with the muscle stuff, but you’ll get the idea.)

That certainly e xplains why they sold so well in Mexico.

Because the real person who the movie was based on drove that model truck.
